Get ticked off and get picked off!

If the devil can get you offended and hurt over something someone did to you, he can take you out! If you are a Christian, you have been given authority in Jesus to overcome anything that you come up against…including people leaving you hurt or brokenhearted.

You have to realize that your authority hinges on your relationship with who gave you the authority. This is true at work, in your family, etc. It is also true with God. In Luke 4:1 the devil began to attack Jesus’ relationship with God offering Him “more authority”. Only because Jesus was confident in who He was and in His relationship with His Father, God, He could walk in His authority against saton.

When we get our feelings hurt and let people offend us, we quickly begin to fear man over God, worrying about what they think about us and focusing on their thoughts about us instead of God’s. We often then yeild to anger, etc. Who we are in Christ (our relationship with Him) is muddied and then we don’t walk in the authority we have been given in Christ. Downhill from there…

Just know that if you get ticked off, you get picked off. Take the high road. Noone can “make” you mad. You choose to get mad.

How to go from a Jerk to a Jewel

Posted by adrienne on Thursday Jun 11, 2009 Under Uncategorized

Wisdom comes from listening more than you talk. It is the thing missing when you find yourelf in a messed up situation. First, we have to realize we can learn from anyone and anything…even if it’s what not to do.Do you know any “know it all” type people? I’ve noticed these ppl don’t ever seem to know very much. They fear man more than God and they want to argue with you and teach you something all the time but are never in a learning posture. I’ve been like this before. It reminds me of how Saul was when he first got saved. His relationship with God had to catch up with His knowledge of God. Then he didn’t make ppl so mad they wanted to kill him. Prov 4 says to get wisdom and with all you’ve got get understanding. I’ve always gotten understanding more from listening than from talking. The more wisdom and understanding of God,who IS love, that Saul had, the more he grew in God’s character and the more effective He was for Him…eventually so much that he wrote most of the New Testament including the love chapter:-)

A day at home

Posted by adrienne on Monday Mar 30, 2009 Under Uncategorized

Today has been a domestic one for me. The last 3 weeks have been super busy for me so today I am beginning to catch up on many loads of laundry and got a good bit of the cooking done for this week.

Been thinking a lot about how wonderful our church is and how many people are doing so many things to help others even today that is enabling me to do some personal things.

Use to I often felt overwhelmed with the load of ministry but as I have been home today I have thought of literally dozens of amazing people at Harvest that are beginning to step into their destinies and shoooo it sure is a blessing to me…to them and to so many that we are reaching for Him.

I have decided today that I like laundry. The quiet time while doing such a mindless task is actually quite restful. I encourage you to try put that perspective next time you do laundry:-)

We’ll see if I hold to this perspective long term!

Hope you find some quiet time today to pray, be thankful for people in your life, and to let God speak to you as He perfects all that concerns you.

Wow! Those clothes are gonna be saturated with the presence of God. Definitely the best time I’ve ever had doing laundry. It sure beats hating every moment of it griping and complaining about all there is to do.

The difference in you and me

Posted by adrienne on Thursday Mar 19, 2009 Under Uncategorized

Have you ever wondered what her secret is? Or why is life working so well for that family? Or when am I ever going to grow up and stop whining?

Well, one thing I have figured out is it is really the simple little adjustments that we make that make a HUGE impact on our lives. What is it that God as been whispering in your ear or nudging you so gently to do or stop doing. That is when we will grow up, when we learn to obey His leadings and just do it; stop saying you want to or mean to. No you don’t. If you did then you would…find the secret to making life work for you. Read that dadgum book. Loose those dadgum pounds. Finish that dadgum project for your child. Apply the Nike principle and just do it. Yield to what is in your heart and wow, how simple that is.
I sure hope you will join me at the Mobile Marriott on March 21st from 6-9 for more insight into simplifying your life.

How real is God to you?

Posted by adrienne on Thursday Mar 12, 2009 Under Uncategorized

God is so much more real to me when I spend time in the Word. There is such an awareness of all the wonderful things He has done for me. When I go for periods of time not feeding on the Word I actually feel disconnected from Him. Mmmm, maybe because I am! John15….and look at what the results are of being connected;awesome stuff!
The results of getting disconnected aren’t so pretty. God, I am so hungry for more time with you. You are so EVERYTHING to me right now. May that be evident to my friends and inspire passion in them toward you…and may this hunger grow in me and not deminish from the busyness and cares of life.
